These are a Few of My Favorite Things: The Village at Meridian

I first met Jamie and Spencer at a meeting with their wedding planner Bettina at Agape Event Center and I knew Jamie was a super bubbly girl right then. She was smiley, sweet and organized! (she claims it was all her bridesmaid) I love brides like this that have an idea of what they want, run with timelines and to do lists and have their wedding plans well under way.  Spencer was there and I love that too, because not all grooms come to all planning parts of a wedding. To me that shows he is thoughtful and supportive, great traits in a husband!

Jamie and Spencer chose the Village at Meridian to have their engagement session because, according to Jamie, it's their #1 go-to date night place! With so many great restaurants and live music all summer, who can blame them? Apparently, Remington, their tri-colored dalmation also loves the smells of the place and often accompanies them, so it was fitting that he was along for photos. It was a busy Saturday night but we managed to steal away a few little spots to capture these two...I mean three!

One of the favorite parts of my job as a wedding photographer here in Boise is to hear each couple's story, and I asked Jamie to share a bit of hers:

Spencer and I met when we were in college at University of Nevada-Reno. I was a freshman and he was a junior. I would see Spencer around and we would say hi and whatnot. October 30th is when I pushed the subject of being actual friends, since I wasn’t looking for romance at that point, and grabbed his phone to call mine! He asked me out the next day on Halloween and we have been together ever since.

Fun facts: Our first date was the scariest date of my life! Since it was Halloween, Spencer wanted to forgo the usual dinner and a movie. We ended up walking through a huge park with no lights at midnight!

Spencer proposed on our 10 year anniversary and this Halloween will be our 12th. Remmington came to us August 2018. at almost 1 year old he was being re-homed and he is the best dog we could have asked for. He knows over 24 tricks/commands and will do anything for a chicky treat. He is a tri-colored Dalmatian which is rarer than a traditional liver spotted one; he has both black and brown spots.

I also asked Jamie about her ring because it was very unique. We had gone looking at rings just for giggles; secretly I was looking at what rings Spencer liked. When I tried on my ring set that I have, I loved it, fully expecting that the two rings on the outside would be the wedding set, but Spencer wanted me to have the full thing for our engagement. After 10 years of waiting I wasn’t about to argue!

We finished off our session with a few more in a subdivision near me to catch a bit more green and let the dog enjoy the grass. I guess he LOVES to lay in the grass! I can't wait to shoot Jamie and Spencer's wedding in November inside the Owyhee!
