When my husband Nate and I first met Teresa and Kyle at their wedding consultation here in Meridian, we knew we wanted to work with them . One might think it was because Nate is from Louisiana and Kyle , from Texas, was wearing an LSU shirt, but I know it was because they were so easy to talk to and that Teresa was my kind of bride. By that, I mean she was organized, knew what she wanted, and some of those little wedding details were inportant to her.
She and Kyle first met online 5 years ago , both while in Boise, Idaho. After speaking to each other every day for just over a month, they felt as if they had know each other for years. They had their first date and soon after came road trips, campint, day to day activities and making their own traditions. One such tradition was visiting the zoo of wherever they happened to travel. They ahd goen to several zoos but never the Boise Zoo. After 4 years, they finally made it to the Boise Zoo, located in Julia Davis Park near downtown. On their second visit to the zoo Kyle proposed in front of the Red Panda cage (his favorite animal). It was a sweet moment that Teresa says she will treasure forever.
Teresa put some very thoughtful touches into their wedding plans, plus received some gifts that added to the uniqueness. The couple chose to have formal portraits done before their rooftop ceremony at The Grove Hotel in the heart o Boise's buzzing downtown. They took not only photos but took a moment for themselves and read private vows to each other in the Rose Garden at Julia Davis Park. There they gave each other a gift and Teresa's gift to Kyle of a pin containing the photos of his deceased grandparents was such a thoughtful gesture it brought the groom to tears. It allowed him to keep them close to his heart on a big day and I could tell the gift was so appreciated by him.
Part of the details of Kyle and Teresa's day included a monogrammed shirt that her mother in law brought from Texas, as well as a half-penny for her shoe. Never heard of that ? It's the last part of the little verse: Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a six-pence for your shoe.
Kyle had his own details for the day, including Star Wars themed cuff links ( he actually walked down the aisle to The Star Wars Theme) plus a cigar/bourbon bar for the guys . It was a great little place to hang out on the rooftop terrace of The Grove Hotel while they waited for a piece of his super personalized groom's cake which featured his beloved LSU in the form of a crawfish boil pot. Amaru Confections really outdid themselves on that cake! The baby red potatoes looked so real!
