One of the things I love about the Boise area is that there are all kinds of hidden gems around that driving by, you would have no idea were there. Sandstone Vineyards is one such place. Nestled down a short road off Meridian Road on the way out to Kuna lies a small vineyard, garden and great place to have a wedding. Now, I have in my head the "perfect wedding venue" and after shooting weddings for so long, I am not shy about what I like and don't like about most of them. Some are beautiful with bad lighting. Some have great light but horrible bathroom facilities for guest.. my list goes on and on. When Krysta told me this is where they decided on for their wedding I definitely didn't complain. I'm not a Wedding Venue reviewer but I do like to point out good things when I find them, and if I am sure you will be able to see a few reasons why I enjoyed my day there with Brenden and Krysta and their families.
There was ample room for Krysta to get ready with natural light and light colors (which I love) as well as a bathroom adjacent with a shower and ample counter space if you happen to be doing your own makeup etc. there. Most brides, like Krista opt to have a professional do their makeup and hair. It had a great space and Krysta decided to do a "first look with her father and step father right there once she was ready. I love that some brides take a few moments to share this moment with their dad. I know how my own daughters are daddy's little girls and it's nice to have a few moments before he has to give her away.
Brenden and Krysta's "First Look" was by far my favorite part of their wedding. They are both just so sweet and happy and this was no different. They had written a letter to each other, which was to be read before Brenden saw her in her dress for the first time. I was so glad I was able to be off to the side documenting this! Krysta was overcome with emotion a bit and gave up her spot of reading her letter first. The tears returned and I totally understand.. I'm a bit of a crier and get emotional when things are so close to my heart. As a wedding photographer I consider myself so privileged to witness, out of earshot, these special moments that a bride and groom can share on their wedding day. After all, having a "first look " together is the only 5 minutes they get alone all day!
After looking at a few photos from their wedding, I am sure it is easy to see why I have dubbed them my "happiest couple so far". They just beam joy, and they are both like this. I have had the opportunity to have them in my home and consider them friends now. I hope they continue to laugh and smile like this for life! They are truly no ordinary couple!
